Major Miracle

A very dear friend of mine just had a major miracle in her life. It was not one easy in coming. In fact, it was like pulling teeth. Rather than come together smoothly, intense prayer and effort in the natural were extended and after she had done all that she could do – she waited. Now it was God’s turn.

But suddenly at a time unexpected, I got a call. The miracle happened. When I got off the phone, I simply returned to caring for the children. It didn’t really sink in. It reminds me of Psalm 126:1; “When the Lord brought back the captive ones of Zion, we were like those who dream.”

I think the psalmist is saying that the release from long captivity felt surreal, like a dream, and they were too numb to enjoy it right away. Some struggles work us into a place so small and dark it is hard to comprehend when the door is finally opened. But THEN…

“Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with joyful shouting.” Now we find that we are slowly loosening up. Joy and thankfulness and laughter are beginning to burst forth. We are excitedly talking about what a wonderful miracle this is and how great is God’s faithfulness.

“The Lord has done great things for us; We are glad.”  Oh, yes indeed. We are very glad! Amen!
