Oftentimes in life, taking time to deal with the little things seems tedious, in comparison to the mountains that we must climb. Frustrated we muster up enough strength to drag our way through and press onward, certain that the mountains are where our true satisfaction lies.
Yet, I have found that God uses the small things of life as currency for our good. Only when we sweat through the “bog” of small tasks (life in general) are we made ready for the big things, when they come along. They sharpen our tools of character, and fit us for the mountains to come.
So as you go throughout your day, make a conscious decision to embrace those little (sometimes pesky) things. Take time to ponder some of the goals you have already accomplished, and recall the many steps that led you to where you are now. Seen from this prospective, small things become sacred moments, stepping stones that will pave the way to much bigger and better things coming your way.
“Thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:21
