Many of us have experienced heartache at one time or another in life. And it catches us oftentimes by surprise when it hits. We are left devastated, shattered, alone, crushed, and broken into pieces.
Some of us build walls of protection to prevent being caught off guard, and being hurt again. Brick by brick we build a fortress around our hearts thinking we will be safe, in actuality cutting ourselves off from ever finding true love.
Is your heart broken? I’ve been there too. We must resist the temptation to build a wall around our heart, and instead allow Jesus to rebuild our lives instead. We must give Him permission to take our broken hearts, and remold them into something supple and new. This will allow Him the necessary room to provide us with true love. Let Jesus make room for love in your heart. He knows exactly what we need.
“My child, give me your heart.” Proverbs 23:26 NRSV
