When troubles come, we never have to face them alone. The Lord is always our refuge and strength. Friends can fail, marriages can split, sometimes money will look funny, our whole world can be shaken to its foundation, leaving us baffled and confused. But the Lord never changes. His truths are forever.
He doesn’t shrug off our concerns and move on. HE is “a very present help in trouble,” standing firmly at our side whatever happens, guiding our actions, and giving us the strength to carry on.
When all else fails, when friends and family desert us, we can put our trust in God and will never be disappointed.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.
Psalm 46: 1-2
