Matthew 9: 6-8
“But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—then He said to the paralytic, “Get up, pick up your bed and go home.” And he got up and went home. But when the crowds saw this, they were awestruck, and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
There is absolutely no doubt that Jesus had total faith in His Father. God gave Him the power to forgive sin and to heal, and He never failed in demonstrating His Father’s glory through His healing.
Jesus must have known that His miracles would surely lead to suffering and death. Being truly human, He must have also felt agony because of what was to take place[saying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.” Luke 22:42], and yet He continued to heal and show us that God had given Him the power to forgive our sins, that everyone could be saved through faith, even though every single healing brought Him that much closer to His death.
What a great sacrifice, done for us!
