I was led to expound a little more this morning on Mary. Why? Glad that you asked. Well, there are some who worship Mary mother of Jesus, for the role played in our Savior’s birth. However, Mary knew that she was not important in the eyes of the world, at least not in the same ways that some deem importance.
To deem ourselves important simply stems from a heart of pride, which is of no value to us in the least. In my opinion, its merely a false feeling of righteousness that resides in one’s heart.
When God chose Mary to bear His son, He ignored the proud, powerful, or important people in the world for obvious reasons.
Mary humbly realized that her honor was not of her own making but was a gift of God. All that she had done was to live in obedience to the law the best that she could.
As with us, God has promised to do mighty things in and through us. Even like the great men of the Bible before us, sometimes we obey and flourish and other times we fall short, and feel the brunt of God’s anger.
Yet, His mercy is always available to us who follow Him. His mercies and blessings continously flow from an undying love for us.
No we aren’t important. Ohhhhh…but we are definitely important to Father God. So important that He sent His only Son Jesus Christ, to redeem us.
“For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.”
