Patience – Rest In The Lord

“Rest in the Lord; wait patiently for him to act.”
Psalm 37:7 TLB

“So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”
Colossians 3:12 NASB

Patience should characterize the life of every believer who is trying to do the will of God.

Say it with me; Patience!

Some days, this can be a tough pill to swallow. We pray about a circumstance, or we’re shown something in the spirit and we expect “right now” results. Then there is the day-to-day life; traffic, that cashier who is taking their sweet time ringing you up, that car in front of you that just won’t do the speed limit….the list goes on and on.

Well, we must always aim to look at the big picture with whatever we find ourselves. Sometimes the answer is immediate and other times we must walk in faith, trusting that God will answer us according to His timing and His purpose for our lives, and also practice the same patience with others that we too desire.

Besides immediate results could hinder the “work” that God is trying to accomplish in us,through us, and in the circumstances in which we find ourselves.

Therefore, in Psalm 37, I believe that God is saying, in essence, “Do what’s right and trust Me. Regardless of how things appear in the natural, just do My will and leave the outcome to Me. I’ll make sure that eventually you’ll be a winner.”

Our Heavenly Father, knows the beginning from the end. He’s got each and every one of us. So, relax and patiently wait in His timing knowing that everything will work out for our ultimate good, and the good of others.
