Rest While You Wait

waiting

Waiting times are times for gathering things together. As we gather, we look at what God is teaching us and revealing to our hearts.

In our times of waiting, God wants us to be filled with memories of His goodness.  We are to gather together the times when God has been faithful to us, when He kept us, and when He has comforted us.

He wants us to remember the times when He has blessed us. To remember the times when He has blessed us with favor, when He has smiled upon us and been gracious to us, and when He has brought us unexpected joys in the midst of chaos.  He wants us to remember that He will continue to be to us in the future all that He has been to us in the past.

Waiting times are times for soaring, when we develop a heavenly point of view, a view that feeds our faith and with it comes confidence and praise. We can fly in our waiting times because our wings are the wings of faith, and the winds that give us lift are the promises of God.

“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.”  Psalm 37:7

  1. I never saw the importance of resting even while waiting. This totally demand putting faith in God. It’s like how Christ managed to sleep even in the storm. When everyone else experts you to be frantic, agitated and impatient, keeping calm begs the question, what is it that you know no one else does? When we rest while waiting we return the glory to God through our faith and trust in him.
