Feed your faith? What on earth could that possibly mean?
Well, maybe it sounds like religious mumbo jumbo, but it really does make a whole lot of sense. To keep our physical energy, what should we do? Give it some high-quality nourishment, of course. So what exactly is food for our faith?
For starters, there’s the Bible; the words contained in it provide nourishment, giving us spiritual energy and preventing our faith in God from wasting away. Then there’s our personal history with God, the things He’s done for us or that we’ve seen Him do for others.
Those incidents are like a stockroom from which we can pull out a reminder of His unyielding faithfulness when our trust is starting to sag a bit. Finally, there are all of those great Christian CD’s, books, and even blogs that can fill our head and our heart with the truth about who God is.
Hungry yet? Chow down on the good stuff and leave the junk food alone!
We are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.
