“They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights.”
A few years ago while on vacation, I walked into a hotel lobby that featured a very large fresh flower arrangement. It was so colorful, perfectly arranged, and its fragrant smell was simply amazing. It literally stopped me in my tracks. In fact, I lingered there for a moment to admire its beauty.
It made me think that there is something about abundance that captures our hearts.
This also brings to mind the generosity of God. He loves us so much that He sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to experience everything that we go through here on earth. Hurt, pain, hate, love, friendship, sickness, lack, provision, sadness, happiness and death. The list is limitless the things that we experience on our journey in life.
In response to everything we go through… grace, mercy, love, provision, healing and forgiveness is extended time and time again in overwhelming abundance.
No wonder the psalmist rejoices: “How precious is your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house” Psalm 36: 7-8
Yes, our God is abundantly good. Our response should be nothing less than overwhelming and overflowing praise for His many blessings.
