What Does Love Look Like?

hjIf I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13

True love is a sacred flame
That burns eternally,
And none can dim its special glow
Or change its destiny.
And true love holds with gentle hands
The hearts that it entwines.

Our Father Knows

bigstock-worship-234208

OUR Father knows what things we need
Each step along the way,
His eye of love doth never sleep,—
He watches night and day.

He knows sometimes, like ripening grain,
We need the sunshine bright,
Again He sends the peace that comes
With shadows of the night.

Sometimes our pride would fain unfurl
Ambition’s flaunting sail,—
Ah! then He knows we need to walk
Humiliation’s vale.

Sometimes He takes our eager hands
And folds them on our breast,
He gently lays our work aside,—
He knows we need to rest.

Sometimes we need companionship,
Sometimes, “the wilderness,”—
How sweet to feel He’ll know and give
man-praising-croppedThe state that most will bless!

Then let us leave it all with Him.
Assured that, come what may,
Our father knows just what we need.
Upon our pilgrim-way.

Matthew 6: 6-8 NLT

But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. “When you pray, don’t babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!

Whom Will Ye Serve?

CASESAR’S friends? or friends of Jesus?
Solemn question for to-day!as.png
Friends of Caesar! Friends of Jesus!
Take your sides without delay.
If ye pause for man’s forbidding,
Caesar’s friendship ye secure;
If ye do the Father’s bidding,
Scorn, reproach, ye shall endure.

Friends of Caesar! Friends of Jesus!
Stand revealed! your choice declare!
Who in truth two masters pleases?
Who may rival banners bear?
Jesus’ friends account Him precious,
Lose for Him all other gain:
Dearer far the smile of Jesus
Than the praise of worldly men.

Free from Caesar, friends of Jesus!
Stand in phalanx! never fear!
Love, severely tried, increases;
Courage yet! The Lord is near!
Onward still, His name confessing,
Weaving crowns to grace His brow;
Lo! His hands are full of blessing,
Lifted for your succor now.

Caesar’s friends were we, but Jesus
Owns us for His friends to-day!
What! Shall rival friendship please us,
While the Bridegroom is away?
No! through grace would we surrender
Caesar’s things to Caesar’s care,
whilst to God, our God, we render
Filial homage, praise, and prayer.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him — 1 John 2:15

Love So Sweet

Characteristics of Love!  Click the link: Love

Its sweet like the nectarof the garden flower,

its soothing like the buzzing

of a bumble bee,imagesZO0FS1WZ

its warm like the rays

of the morning sun,

its the search of a love so pure

which keeps me on the run.
its the pulse in my vein,

the thoughts in my brain,

in every breath that I take,

the smile my lips make,

its in the twinkle of my eye,

till the day I die.
its the dream in my sleep,

its springs freshest leaf;

a love so rare like this

will always be with me for keeps.
its the warmth of my blood,

as my feelings flood,

as says my heart’s beat,

its depth touches the ocean’s feet.
even if its heart searing pain,

with nothing to gain,

I will feel it as the tear on my cheek,

and without words my soul will speak.
a feeling so sincere,

a bond so strong,

I know my soul will never guide me wrong.
I will wait till my last sunset,

till my heart slows down with a dull ache,

till my eyes are wet,

till I meet my soul’s mate,

yes, I will wait.

Motivated From The Heart

We can do all the right things
And be eloquent in what we say,
But if we don’t have love in our hearts,images9zhoyofy
What we do and say is in vain

We can give everything to those in need,
Even sacrifice all our time,
But if we don’t have God’s love inside,
It’s as if our faith is blind

The only motivation we should have
Is God’s compassionate heart,
To really have God’s mercy and grace
For the many lost in the dark

Touch us again with your love
And a desire for the lost
To show them there is a better way,
To lead them to Jesus cross

So they, too, may be deeply touched
With your saving grace, O Lord,
And know the missing link is you,
The key that unlocks the door

For you have reconciled us, Lord,
Back to our Father above,
To have meaningful relationship
And receive His eternal love

So, may our walk be blameless, Lord,
Reflecting who you are
Let nothing we do be in vain,
But be motivated from the heart.

Magic of Love

L-O-V-E

L is for the loyalty you have for Father above
And it stands for the legacy of His amazing love
O is for the only Savior who can make a Saul into a Paul
And it stands for His omnipotence; The Lord over us all
V is for the vindication He gives through Jesus on the cross
And it stands for victory for we all will not be lost
E is for the earthly form in Jesus Christ His son
And it stands for everlasting; the Father’s will be donewpid-images-27.jpeg

Put all the letters together to spell love
Sent straight to us from our Father above
Love others as we love ourselves is the greatest command
Just as Jesus loved us as part of the Master’s plan
Love is the greatest of faith, hope, love, and charity
Love is the very basis of Christianity

You can’t be a Christian with no love to impart
Not when God, the very essence of love, lives right within your heart!

He That Scattereth Increaseth

IS thy cruse of comfort failing?
Rise and share it with another,
And through all the years of famine
It shall serve thee and thy brother. 12-Grow Love

Love Divine will fill thy storehouse,
Or thy handful still renew
Scanty fare for one will often
Make a royal feast for two.

For the heart grows rich in giving;
All its wealth is living grain;
Seeds which mildew in the garner,
Scattered, fill with gold the plain.
Is thy burden hard and heavy?
Do thy steps drag wearily?
Help to bear thy brother’s burden;
God will bear both it and thee.

Numb and weary on the mountains,
Wouldst thou sleep amid the snow?
Chafe that frozen form beside thee,
And together both shall glow.
Art thou stricken in life’s battle?
Many wounded round thee moan;
Lavish on their wounds thy balsams,
And that balm shall heal thine own.

Is thy heart a well left empty?
None but God its void can fill;
Nothing but a ceaseless Fountain
Can its ceaseless longings still.
Is thy heart a living power?
Self-entwined, its strength sinks low;
It can only live in loving,
And by serving love will grow.

Fear is what we learn.
The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear
and prejudices and Image result for spiritual journey
the acceptance of love back in our hearts.
Love is the essential reality
and our purpose on earth.
To be consciously aware of it,
to experience love in ourselves and others,

Meaning does not lie in things.
