Is to trust that miracles happen,
and dreams really do come true.
To believe is to see angels
dancing among the clouds,
To know the wonder of a stardust sky
and the wisdom of the man in the moon.
To believe is to know the value of a nurturing heart,
The innocence of a child’s eyes
and the beauty of an aging hand,
for it is through their teachings we learn to love.
To believe is to find the strength
and courage that lies within us
When it’s time to pick up
the pieces and begin again.
To believe is to know
we are not alone,
That life is a gift
and this is our time to cherish it.
To believe is to know
that wonderful surprises are just
waiting to happen,
And all our hopes and dreams are within reach.
If only we believe.

JUST to let Thy Father do what He will;
Just to know that He is true, and be still.
Just to follow, hour by hour, as He leadeth;
Just to draw the moment’s power, as it needeth.
Just to trust Him, this is all. Then the day will
Peaceful, whatso’er befall, bright and blessed, calm
Just to let Him speak to thee, through His Word,
Watching, that His voice may be clearly heard.
Just to tell Him everything, as it rises,
And at once to bring to Him all surprises.
Just to listen, and to stay where you cannot miss His
This is all! and thus today, you, communing, shall
Just to trust, and yet to ask guidance still;
Take the training or the task, as He will.
Just to take the loss or gain, as He sends it;
Just to take the joy or pain as He lends it.
He who formed thee for His praise will not miss the
So today, and all thy days, shall be moulded for
Just to leave in His dear hand little things;
All we cannot understand, all the stings.
Just to let Him take the care sorely pressing;
Finding all we let Him bear changed to blessing.
This is all! and yet the way marked by Him who
loves thee best:
Secret of a happy day, secret of His promised rest.
God has plans for you,
a future ~ a hope
He has great things
in His almighty scope.
He has a life for you,
a path ~ a way
He has great designs
before you to lay.
He has a place for you,
a joy ~ a peace
He has great treasures
that’ll never cease.
He has a use for you,
a purpose ~ an aim
He has great blessings
for you ~ to claim.
But, you must seek God,
with your whole heart
before His plans for you
He can impart . . .

when ye shall search for me with all

|Balmy morning! blessed morning!
All the emerald glade adorning
In thy light–
In thy golden glowing beam
With an ever-changeful gleam
Flashing sparkling deeply glowing
Varying tints of beauty showing
In thy welcome light!Balmy morning! blessed morning!
Flowers look up,
With a precious, pearly off’ring,
In each cup–
Dewy off’ring gleaned by night,
As a tribute to the light,–
Far more precious than the gem
Of a monarch’s diadem,
Is the gift
Which they lift
To thy welcome light!Balmy morning! blessed morning!
Sounds of mirth,
From the vocal vales ascending,
Hail thy birth.
Happy birds in echoing bowers,
Waken all their tuneful powers,
And spontaneous music springs
From all animated things,–
Joyful greet thy light!
Balmy morning! blessed morning!

THE purple grape must be crushed
To make the sweet, red wine,
And furnace fires must fiercely burn,
The drossy gold to refine;
The wheel must cruelly grind,
Else where the jewel’s light?
And the steel submit to the polishing,
Or how would the sword grow bright?
How then, my soul, wilt thou
The Spirit’s fruits possess,
Except thou lovingly yield thyself
To the Hand that wounds to bless?
Then patiently let the fire
Consume all earthly dross–
Thou canst not hope to wear the Crown,
If thou refuse the Cross!

He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3
UNANSWERED yet, the prayer your lips have pleaded
In agony of heart these many years?
Doth faith begin to fail, is hope declining,
And think you all in vain those falling tears?
Say not the Father hath not heard your prayer,
You shall have your desire, sometime, somewhere.
Unanswered yet? Tho’ when you first presented
This one petition at the Father’s throne,
It seemed you could not wait the time of asking,
So anxious was your heart to have it done.
If years have passed since then, do not despair,
For God will answer you sometime, somewhere.
Unanswered yet? But you are not unheeded;
The promises of God forever stand;
To Him our days and years alike are equal.
Have faith in God! It is your Lord’s command.
Hold on to Jacob’s angel, and your prayer
Shall bring a blessing down, sometime, somewhere.
Unanswered yet? Nay, do not say unanswered;
Perhaps your part is not yet wholly done.
The work began when first your prayer was uttered;
And God will finish what He hath begun.
Keep incense burning at the shrine of prayer,
And glory shall descend, sometime, somewhere.
Unanswered yet? Faith cannot be unanswered;
Her feet are firmly planted on the Rock.
Amid the wildest storms she stands undaunted,
Nor quails before the loudest thunder shock.
She knows Omnipotence hath heard her prayer,
And cries, “It shall be done, sometime, somewhere!”
She had never been in love;
His was from above.
She didn’t like compassion;
His was more than you could imagine.
She was depressed;
He did nothing but bless.
She pushed away,
But He told her to pray.
It took a while,
But slowly she started to smile.
She looked in all the wrong places;
He was the final destination.
She was saved;
His love had engraved.
“Bless the Lord, O, my soul” (Ps. ciii. 1).
Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me be stirred up to magnify His holy name.
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits; who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; who satisfieth thy mouth with good things, so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Who so well can sing this thanksgiving song as we, rejoicing as most of us do, we trust, in this full salvation, and praising God for the glorious health of a risen Lord and a continual youth?
This psalm and its opening verses is in the very center of the Scriptures by an exact count of letters and verses. So let it stand in our lives, as we look backward and forward and upward in grateful thanksgiving as we sing in its closing strains, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.” Lord, center my heart in Thee and in the spirit of love and praise.
Lord, you send the rain,
Giving water to the church,
To wash us and to cleanse us,
To quench our endless thirst
The rain that falls on us
Is often what we’re needing,
To refresh us and restore us,
A time of awesome blessing
For often we may feel
That we are in a drought,
In need of refreshing waters
When we are running out
For with the rain of God
Comes the growth that we need
And life springs forth from it
Just like a little seed
For if we don’t have rain,
How can our spirits grow
And flourish to produce
The crop that God has sowed?
So rain on us, dear God,
Draw us deep into your spring,
So our thirst can be satisfied
When we come and freely drink.
