He That Scattereth Increaseth

IS thy cruse of comfort failing?
Rise and share it with another,
And through all the years of famine
It shall serve thee and thy brother. 12-Grow Love

Love Divine will fill thy storehouse,
Or thy handful still renew
Scanty fare for one will often
Make a royal feast for two.

For the heart grows rich in giving;
All its wealth is living grain;
Seeds which mildew in the garner,
Scattered, fill with gold the plain.
Is thy burden hard and heavy?
Do thy steps drag wearily?
Help to bear thy brother’s burden;
God will bear both it and thee.

Numb and weary on the mountains,
Wouldst thou sleep amid the snow?
Chafe that frozen form beside thee,
And together both shall glow.
Art thou stricken in life’s battle?
Many wounded round thee moan;
Lavish on their wounds thy balsams,
And that balm shall heal thine own.

Is thy heart a well left empty?
None but God its void can fill;
Nothing but a ceaseless Fountain
Can its ceaseless longings still.
Is thy heart a living power?
Self-entwined, its strength sinks low;
It can only live in loving,
And by serving love will grow.

Love’s Alchemy

LOVE is the filling from one’s own
Another’s cup.grouphug1
Love is a daily laying down
And taking up;
A choosing of the stony path
Through each new day
That other feet may tread with ease
A smoother way.
Love is not blind, but looks abroad
Through other eyes;
And asks not “Must I give?” but “May
I sacrifice?”
Love hides its grief, that other hearts
And lips may sing;
And burdened, walks, that other lives
May, buoyant, wing.
Brother, hast thou a love like this
Within thy soul?
‘Twill change thy name to saint when thou
Dost reach thy goal.

Smile

Smile a little, smile a little, imagesY3A78CZ8
As you go along,
Not alone when life is pleasant,
But when things go wrong.
Care delights to see you frowning,
Loves to hear you sigh;
Turn a smiling face upon her –
Quick the dame will fly.

Smile a little, smile a little,
All along the road;
Every life must have its burden,
Every heart its load.
Why sit down in gloom and darkness
With your grief to sup?
As you drink Fate’s bitter tonic,
Smile across the cup.

Smile upon the troubled pilgrims
Whom you pass and meet;
Frowns are thorns, and smiles are blossoms
Oft for weary feet.
Do not make the way seem harder
By a sullen face;
Smile a little, smile a little,
Brighten up the place.

Smile upon your undone labour;
Not for one who grieves
O’er his task waits wealth or glory;
He who smiles achieves.
Though you meet with loss and sorrow
In the passing years,
Smile a little, smile a little,
Even through your tears.

My(Our)Prayer

Please be there to help me,
For I cannot stand alone.
Please be there to guide me,
I can’t make it on my own.s
Please be there to lift me,
If I should fall by the way.
Please be there to give me
The right words to speak today.

Let me care for my brothers,
The ones who are down and out,
Putting love into action
Daring to be talked about.
Lifting someone’s burden,
Telling them ‘Jesus cares’
Give me strength and help me
To dry somebody’s tears.

Someone was there for me,
When my life was in a mess,
Someone said, Jesus loved me,
And wanted me to find rest.
Now may I pass the message
To someone else in need,
Obeying His commandment,
By my words and my deeds.

Come Come Come

behance.jpg

Come, come, come

Well, ok then, I say

When He whispers wisdom

The now becomes today.

I cannot know the future

But in the now I see

All the places I have been

Yet still He calls to me.

Come, come, come

Just lay it down now

So simple to surrender, but

Not understanding the how.

How? Do not burden this

Come, come, come and see

Now is the time my child

Know this, “I set you free.

“Come, come, come

My weary heart will sigh

Life is racing frantically

But will not pass me by.

The now may be exhausting

And the how stuns the mind

But when you come, come

My peace you will find.

Come, come, come

Before you came to be

From the first gasping breath

You belonged to Me.

“Come to Me all of you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
