Whom Will Ye Serve?

CASESAR’S friends? or friends of Jesus?
Solemn question for to-day!as.png
Friends of Caesar! Friends of Jesus!
Take your sides without delay.
If ye pause for man’s forbidding,
Caesar’s friendship ye secure;
If ye do the Father’s bidding,
Scorn, reproach, ye shall endure.

Friends of Caesar! Friends of Jesus!
Stand revealed! your choice declare!
Who in truth two masters pleases?
Who may rival banners bear?
Jesus’ friends account Him precious,
Lose for Him all other gain:
Dearer far the smile of Jesus
Than the praise of worldly men.

Free from Caesar, friends of Jesus!
Stand in phalanx! never fear!
Love, severely tried, increases;
Courage yet! The Lord is near!
Onward still, His name confessing,
Weaving crowns to grace His brow;
Lo! His hands are full of blessing,
Lifted for your succor now.

Caesar’s friends were we, but Jesus
Owns us for His friends to-day!
What! Shall rival friendship please us,
While the Bridegroom is away?
No! through grace would we surrender
Caesar’s things to Caesar’s care,
whilst to God, our God, we render
Filial homage, praise, and prayer.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him — 1 John 2:15

The Narrow Way

MATT. 7:14.

“DEAR Lord, the way seems very dark,
I cannot see.”
“Yes, child, I know, but I will be thy Light—
Come, follow Me!”

“Dear Lord, so lonely is this way—
Where are my friends?”
“My child, dost thou forget how far from Me
Their pathway tends?”

“Dear Master, I am growing weak,
I scarce can stand.”
“O, foolish child, trust not in thine own strength,
Come, take My hand;

“For I have trod this way before,
So dark to thee.
I know each step, its weariness and pain,
Wilt trust in Me?”

“Yea, Lord, though friendless, lonely, dark,
This way may be,
I will be strong. Beloved Guide, lead on,
I follow Thee!”

Let Me Talk With THEE

images9zhoyofy

LORD, let me talk with Thee of all I do,
All that I care for, all that I wish for, too;
Lord, let me prove Thy sympathy, Thy power,
Thy loving oversight from hour to hour!
When I need counsel, let me ask of Thee:
Whatever my perplexity may be,
It cannot be too trivial to bring
To One who marks the sparrow’s drooping wing;
Nor too terrestrial since Thou has said
The very hairs are numbered on our head.
‘Tis through such loop-holes that the foe takes aim,
And sparks, unheeded, burst into a flame.
Do money troubles press? Thou canst resolve
The doubts and dangers such concerns involve.
Are those I love the cause of anxious care?
Thou canst unbind the burdens they may bear.
Before the mysteries of Thy Word or will,
Thy voice can gently bid my heart be still,
Since all that now is hard to understand
Shall be unraveled in yon heavenly land.
Or do I mourn the oft-besetting sin,
The tempter’s wiles, that mar the peace within?
Present Thyself, Lord, as the absolving priest,
To whom confessing, I go forth released.
Do weakness, weariness, disease, invade
This earthly house, which Thou Thyself hast made?
Thou only, Lord, canst touch the hidden spring
Of mischief, and attune the jarring string.
Would I be taught what Thou wouldst have me give,
The needs of those less favored to relieve?
Thou canst so guide my hand that I shall be
A liberal, “cheerful giver,” Lord, like Thee.
Of my life’s mission, do I stand in doubt?
Thou knowest and canst clearly point it out.
Whither I go, do Thou Thyself decide,
And choose the friends and servants by my side.
The books I read, I would submit to Thee,
Let them refresh, instruct and solace me.
I would converse with Thee from day to day,
With heart intent on what Thou hast to say;
And through my pilgrim walk, whate’er befall,
Consult with Thee, O Lord, about it all.
Since Thou art willing thus to condescend
To be mine intimate, familiar friend,
Oh, let me to the great occasion rise,
And count Thy friendship life’s most glorious prize.

The Day I Fell in Love

The day my eyes opened I realized the sun shone everyday
The beauty of the sunrise in the morning filled my heart with joy
The magnificent sunset moments in the evening, lifted my spirit
The fresh breath of falling waters, made me smile inwardly6359525320671471051216021347_love
Birds humming sweetly took my heart afar to Sweetland and I rejoiced

I looked then I saw, the beauty I never realized as each day passed
Moments with the nature bonded me with the Creator
I comprehended the one who created for He is greater than I
I laughed joyfully as I walked on the grass and mingled with the nature
Fresh drops of water touched my feet, the feeling made me cry of joy
How could I have not seen and known all this beauty before?

Days became sweet to me, nothing else mattered so much except You
The times we shared together in our secret place built me
I took heed of Your Word and kept your statutes in my heart so I may not depart from You

I keep the Word   from you so I may do things your way and be successful
When I opened up to You, You gave me the reason to live
Life with you is good, so good, I just have to share it with others around

Waking up and listening to sweet hymns from the birds makes my day
Waking up and smelling the fresh breath of the day, makes me spread my arms and fly

Waking up and knowing that You have granted me yet another day, blesses my soul

Take my hand and let me not depart from You oh Lord
When I gave my heart to You , all things opened up for me
That’s the day I fell in love with You

The Best Gift

The “Word Incarnate” came down to earth
The King of Heaven, in lowly birth.
He laid aside his Deity
And became a man like you and me.untitled
He came with a mission- a job to do,
To bring salvation to me and to you.

In bondage to sin we all have been
since Adam and Eve in the garden sinned.
That sin separated us from God
Since then a different path we’ve trod.
But God so loved the world that he
Gave his precious Son, our proxy to be.

He died on Calvary in our place
A Sacrifice for the whole human race.
He paid sin’s price and set us free
Gave his life voluntarily.
And to all who would his gift embrace
Will have eternity to behold his face.

Gertrude Jefferies

Hymn of Charity

Nor faith, nor hope, whate’er their force,
Can aught avail the soul,
Should charity not guide its course intermountaincfc
To glory’s heavenly goal.
The songs of wisdom, tho’ they soar
To notes that seraphs swell,
If she be wanting, are no more
Than folly’s tinkling bell.

A thousand shapes, as bright as morn,
Sweet Charity assumes,
And all the hues of Heaven adorn
Her variegated plumes.
‘Tis she with consolation’s voice
That stills affliction’s storm,
She bids despairing want rejoice
In bounty’s radiant form.

But with what semblance is she seen,
That more her power endears,
Than when with mild instruction’s mien
Her infant train she rears?
Then she the earth-bound spirit lifts
Above the valley’s clod,
Then gives the richest of her gifts,
The knowledge of her God.       – William Hayley

Ordering Our Lives

“Only let us hold true to what we have already attained and walk and order our lives by that.” ~ Philippians 3: 16 (AMP)

imagesU22RDQLA

The preceding verses mention that we need to be pressing forward toward the goal – to win the prize. In V: 16, it speaks of holding true to what we have already attained or learned in our Christian walk, and order our lives by that. Yes, we should have our eyes fixed on the goal – the heavenly prize, but in the meantime, while we’re striving toward what’s ahead, we should live in accordance to what we have already attained in God. Not neglecting what we’ve already learned – as if we can slack off a bit. For by doing so, we may end up going backwards and become stagnate.

As we walk with Christ, we need to keep the momentum moving forward. By walking and ordering our lives to what we have already attained causes us to get a real grasp of the truths of God, so that we can move on to the next level in Him, with more confidence of who we are in Christ.

I shall hold true thus far,
To what I’ve attained
And order my life by
The knowledge I’ve gained

The Perfect Fit

perfect fit 1 by Jason Gaines free photo from Creationswap

The love of Jesus,
baffles my mind
for it’s a love like
no other I can find.

I can’t understand,
the enormity of it
but, I know for me
Jesus is a perfect fit.

The love of Jesus,
is so hard to explain
for, it’s so immense
too hard to contain.

I cannot grasp,
its total completeness
but, I know for sure
it’s full of forgiveness.

The love of Jesus,
is hard to dispel . . .
for, it lives in the hearts
of all who let Him dwell.

~~~~~~~~
Ephesians 3:17-19
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith;
that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
May be able to comprehend with all saints what is
the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge,
that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.”
To The End
The Lord is my God,82cacd675fc344cc4a9223bc5d501acc.jpg
from beginning to end
His love and mercy
are around every bend.
No matter where I go,
or whatever I do . . .
His grace is before me
it always shines through.
He is always with me,
I know that He cares
and all of my worries
I know that He bears.
When first I met Him,
I knew I was in love
for His goodness fits
my heart like a glove.
I’ll never leave Him,
I’ll follow Him to the end
for I have never found
a better helper or friend!
Psalm 54:4
King James Version
“Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is
with them that uphold my soul.”
IF
If all the sermons good men preach
And all the precepts that they teach
Were gathered into one
Unbroken line of silver speech,
The shining filament might reach
From earth unto the sun. imagesQD3VRPLK
If all the stories ever told
By wild romancers, young or old,
Into a thread were drawn,
And from its cable coil unrolled,
‘Twould span those misty hills of gold
That heaven seems resting on.
If every folly, every freak,
From day to day, from week to week,
Is written in “The Book,”
With all the idle words we speak,
Would it not crimson many a cheek
Upon the page to look?
If all the good deeds that we do
From honest motives pure and true
Shall there recorded be,
Known unto God and angels too,
Is it not sad they are so few
And wrought so charily?
