Life Is A Privilege

Life is a privilege. Its youthful days Shine with the radiance of continuous

To live, to breathe, to wonder and desire,

To feed with dreams the heart’s perpetual fire,

To thrill with virtuous passions, and to glow

With great ambitions – in one hour to know

The depths and heights of feeling – God! in truth,

How beautiful, how beautiful is youth!
Life is a privilege. Like some rare rose

The mysteries of the human mind unclose.

What marvels lie in the earth, and air, and sea!

What stores of knowledge wait our opening key!

What sunny roads of happiness lead out

Beyond the realms of indolence and doubt!

And what large pleasures smile upon and bless

The busy avenues of usefulness!
Life is a privilege. Thought the noontide fades

And shadows fall along the winding glades,

Though joy-blooms wither in the autumn air,

Yet the sweet scent of sympathy is there.

Pale sorrow leads us closer to our kind,

And in the serious hours of life we find

Depths in the souls of men which lend new worth

And majesty to this brief span of earth.
Life is a privilege. If some sad fate

Sends us alone to seek the exit gate,

If men forsake us and as shadows fall,

Still does the supreme privilege of all

Come in that reaching upward of the soul

To find the welcoming Presence at the goal,

And in the Knowledge that our feet have trod

Paths that led from, and must wind back, to God.

Our Every Acts of Worship

Everything we do
Is an act of worship
That brings pleasure and delight
When it’s done for God,
It touches His heart
And is our God-given purpose in life

grouphug1

For God created
Everything that exists
For His glory and His pleasure
And we, His children,
Have so much worth,
More valuable than priceless treasure

For worshipping God
Is truly a lifestyle,
Affecting everything we do
It’s not just in singing
Spiritual songs,
But in our everyday happenings too

As we minister to those
We see in need,
Offering to them our service,
And even the mundane,
Everyday things,
To God, they’re acts of worship

We need to be offering
As a dedication
Every area of our lives
As an act of spiritual
Worship to God
And a most holy sacrifice

For God cares so much
About every detail
No matter how great or small,
For God will walk
In our every day life
As we establish Him as Lord.

Its A Marathon

“…Therefore then, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us…”Hebrews 12: 1 (AMP)

Our Christian life is likened to a race. We need to run with ‘patient endurance’. It’s not a sprint to the finish, but more like a marathon. Along the way we should encourage each other, for so often we may feel like giving up, but we need to keep pressing on.

No athlete wears heavy clothing and weights while running their race. Likewise, in the spiritual, we also need to be dressed appropriately for the race, and throw off the things that would hold us back and weigh us down, so that we may be able to finish the race.

Another interesting point I get from this verse, is that it says to run the appointed course of the race that is set before us. That speaks to me of the race we are running being our race, we are not to run somebody else’s race. With endurance, let us run our race,
Pressing forward with a steady pace.

Take Time To Be Holy

TAKE time to be holy! Speak oft with the Lord;
Abide in Him always, and feed on His Word;
Make friends of God’s children, help those who are weak,
Forgetting in nothing His blessing to seek.

Take time to be holy! The world rushes on;
Spend much time in secret with Jesus alone;images1Q72C6SE
By looking to Jesus, like Him thou shalt be;
Thy friends in thy conduct His likeness shall see.

Take time to be holy! Let Him be thy guide,
And run not before Him, whatever betide;
In joy or in sorrow, still follow the Lord,
And, looking to Jesus, still trust in His word!

Take time to be holy! Be calm in thy soul,
Each thought and each motive beneath His control;
Thus led by His spirit to fountains of love,
Thou soon shalt be fitted for service above.

If We All Understood

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”  1 Samuel 16:7

COULD we draw aside the curtainsImage result for helping others
That surround each other’s lives,
See the naked heart and spirit,
Know what spur the action gives—
Often we would find it better,
Purer than we judge we would;
We would love each other better
If we only understood.

Could we judge all deeds by motives,
See the good and bad within,
Often we would love the sinner
All the while we loathe the sin.
Could we know the powers working
To o’erthrow integrity,
We would judge each other’s errors
With more patient charity.

If we knew the cares and trials,
Knew the efforts all in vain,
And the bitter disappointments—
Understood the loss and gain—
Would the grim external roughness
Seem, I wonder, just the same?
Would we help where now we hinder?
Would we pity where we blame?

Ah, we judge each other harshly,
Knowing not life’s hidden force;
Knowing not the fount of action
Is less turbid at its source.
Seeing not amid the evil
All the golden grains of good,
Oh, we’d love each other better
If we only understood.

The Spiritual Journey

LOVE is what we are born with.
Fear is what we learn.
The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear
and prejudices and Image result for spiritual journey
the acceptance of love back in our hearts.
Love is the essential reality
and our purpose on earth.
To be consciously aware of it,
to experience love in ourselves and others,
is the meaning of life.
Meaning does not lie in things.
Meaning lies in us.

Christ, All In All

IN Christ all fullness dwells: from Him proceeds
All that fall’n man, poor, wretched, guilty, needs.
In Him the contrite, bruised in spirit, find
Whate’er can heal the sorrows of the mind— images97Y7JUIG
Forgiving love, that saves from blank despair,
Rich grace, that banishes each anxious care,
Soft pity, that relieves the bursting sigh,
And truth, revealing joys that never die.
Thrice happy they, who to His word attend,
His favor seek, and on His strength depend.
‘Tis theirs to know His heart-consoling voice,
To share His smile, and in His name rejoice.
To them, reclaimed in mercy from the fall
And heav’nward marching, Christ is all in all:
In want, their treasure—in distress, their stay—
In gloom, their day-spring—vigor, in decay—
‘Mid foes, their guard—in solitude, their guest—
In storms, their hiding place—in toils, their rest—
In bonds, their freedom—their relief, in pain—
In life, their glory—and in all things, gain.
